Petrichor — The Rain, The River, And I

This poem from Polyhued describes the beauty and tranquillity found in nature. It explores the power of nature to bring peace to those who wander in it.

Created with OpenArt.ai

The fresh woods dewy, the green grasses lush,

As golden spread in the serene skyline’s aurora,

The riverside dwelling on the stilts felt rather plush,

Where it befriended the Californian sequoia,

Where the early dawn gave me boundless euphoria.

|

The backyard blossom grew in solitary idyll,

Monsoon rains indeed wash away clinomania,

And dews bring calm and soothing tranquil,

Ages hence, these moments shall be memorabilia,

With their epithets all over the cyclopaedia.

|

The bracing daybreak succeeded the bygone nightfall,

The blustery night to the restful morn- that’s serendipity,

For a pluviophile was belied by foretime’s downfall,

And the mother had been crying all over the city,

Yet every man jack knew it wasn’t susceptibility.

|

As the wooden flight made me level with the meadows,

The eloquence of the breeze brought over me sonder,

Illuminated that redamancy lives in this world of sorrows,

And the delicate drizzle ensuing had me deeply ponder,

And it brought peace and harmony to every man that did wander.

|

A poet could in verse elucidate the variance in

Lonesomeness and solitude,

The latter entirely embedded within,

By the freshness polyhued,

And petrichor to enliven the mood.

|

The twilight of the dawn and the dawn of dusk,

Remains far away from fading years,

And yet paving way is the luminescence beneath husk,

Which sees far and wide as seers,

More than what candidly appears.
